Each September, MarShield joins the American Medical Association and Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging in celebrating Women in Medicine Month.
Women play a crucial role in medicine. This month serves to highlight female physicians’ accomplishments and advocacy work, and to shed light on health issues impacting female patients.
During the month, the AMA’s Women Physicians Section honours physicians who offer their wisdom, their time, and their support to advance women with careers in medicine.
Each year, The Joan F. Giambalvo Fund for the Advancement of Women provides scholarships to support research advancing the study of women in the medical profession and strengthening the AMA’s ability to identify and address the issues affecting women physicians and medical students.
