Embossing a metal tag means raising a design outwards. If you are looking directly at the tag, the message would be raised towards you.

They can be produced with serialized (sequential) data and variable data. In comparison, stamped metal tags may not be as cost effective to be made with variable data. This is one reason to choose embossing over stamping.

Durability

When buying metal tags you want your product to be durable enough to last for a long time. Metal tags are built tough, and can handle wear and tear.

Since the medium is permanently raised up metal, there is no chance of paint or printed ink getting worn off. If you plan to (or accidentally) paint over the tag, your message will still remain legible.

The tags can last for up to 20+ years, even after taking a beating in tough work environments. When you use quality processes and quality materials, you create a quality product. That’s why it is important to choose the right manufacturer for your tags.

Material

  • Aluminum
  • Brass
  • Stainless Steel
  • Cold Rolled Steel
  • Other

Like most metal tags, you have multiple options when selecting the material. You can go with the standard aluminum for a sturdy, but lightweight tag, or go with a heavier brass or stainless steel if it fits what you need better.

Color Options

One of the features that sets embossed tags apart is the ability to add a little bit of color to the product. Of course, you can stick with the natural metal finish and keep things simple. If you want to color code your tag, match your company branding, or just jazz things up a bit, you have that option as well.

If you are using steel material, you have the option of using painted steel. For aluminum tags there is coloring using the anodization process. Anodized aluminum colors stand out, and offer an array of color choices. The best part is it will retain its color even after heavy usage.

If you need a red octagonal tag that says, “STOP” or a bright yellow warning tag, colored tags are a great option.

Logo Embossing

Do you need a custom logo on your tags? Embossed tags feature the option of adding your organization’s logo. For example, this can be a excellent addition to an asset identification tag. Not only will it help with inventory traceability, but also reinforce your branding at the same time.

Final Thoughts

Durability, versatility, and the option to customize. These tags get the job done, and handle tough environments. If variable data is a must, look no further. If you need your design to stand out, embossed metal tags might be the perfect solution for you.
