Since May 9, 2002, Jubilee Youth Sanctuary: A Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Ministry, (JYS) has been creating programs that provide an effective and innovative response to the increasing concerns of families (primarily pre-adolescent males). Many children face complex issues in their lives, regardless of race, ethnicity, or class. Often, these tribulations manifest themselves through chronic behavioral problems, poor academic performance, gang activity and substance abuse. In response to the increasing need of positive role models for juveniles in today's society, JYS was created to identify and seek solutions to the significant and ongoing risk factors elementary and middle school students face. Juvenile justice literature emphasizes that mentoring has a large impact on the future success of society's juveniles and helps young people positively alter their lifestyles. JYS' Role Model Mentoring Program provides juveniles the opportunity to talk with adults, get answers to important and personal questions, or just have a friend to turn to in the time of need. Through one-to-one mentoring, and modeling practical and Biblical principles, can lead a child to develop a positive self-image
